I think the right name is Hattingen, not Hattinge

  1. Good observaton. Yes, the German name is Hattingen, our is Hattinge. Like the Estonians append -"es" or -"as" to most foreign names so as to make them grammatical for them, so we do chop most "n" of German and other -"en" endings in almost all grammatical contexts like in proper names, nouns, loaned verbs, etc., and we likewise alter many foreign "<consonant>+n" endings to "<consonant>+e". The city of Antwerp on the Dutch/Belgian border, in Dutch and Flemish "Antwerpen", is called Antwerpe in the realm of Ripuarian languages, the German city Hameln Hamelle, etc.
